Phase Change Material Neck Cooler:
The neck cooler or neck cooling tube is originally desinged by a Korea artist and they are now made by different factories mostly from Korea and China.
This neck tube is designed for body cooling purpose because the neck is the organ which dissipates heat largely. The product shall be pre-cooled by ice water or frozen in the refrigerator. When the inside cold storage material collects enough cold energy, it can then be used to release the coolness. The released temperature depends on the selected material which normally has a phase change temperature at 18℃,21℃,23℃ or 28℃.
Cooling Lasting time:
The product keeps you cool for 30 minutes up to 2~3 hours depending on the environment temperature when you use. For example, if you wear it under the sun with temperature around 40c, it could last just about 20-30mins because the cooling material not only absorbs your body heat but also the heat from the environment. Hence, the PCM will absorb heat quickly and then it stops to release coolness to you.
But when you wear it inside the room at 26~28℃, then the tube simply absorbs the heat your body generate. In this case, you can enjoy a long and soothing coolness around 2-3 hours if you do not generate large heat.

Charge/Recharge:
Charge the cooling tube to collect the coolness in the ice water, tap water or frozen in refrigerator, freezer before use. The charging time varies depending on the charging temperature and medium. It could be 10mins in ice water, 20 mins in refrigerator or 30 mins or even more time in the air-conditioned room. One shall charge the cooling tube at least 3-5℃ below the phase change temperature, the more temperature difference, the less charging / recharging time.

Ru Entropy use bio renewable based organic normal paraffin PCMs as cooling storage material. Its density is 0.77 and it just fits the neck tube’s design.
Competitors normally use fatty acid based bio PCM with a density of 0.81 around and the product shows a “loosen hole” effect after frozen & melting cycles.
Ru Entropy ‘s PCM has a large latent of heat around 210~230j/g, which meaning for the same phase change temperature, our cooling tube supply more coolness.
Competitors’ fatty acid PCM only has 180j/g~200j/g heat capacity, which meaning for the same phase change temperature, competitor’s cooling tube last fewer cooling time.

Competitors’ TPU are not carefully selected and one will feel oily on the tube surface. It normally happens in a few cycles (frozen & melting. The product looks like it has “white hair” if the TPU has a leakage problem. It is not what some makers claiming that this is what the PCM it shall be.
